Concrete and Fireproofing

At the Borgata Resort and Casino in Atlantic City we were contracted to pour the floor for the new nightclub in the middle of the existing building. This included running approximately 750 linear feet of pump line up through a myriad of twists and turns up into the space in order to be able to complete this task. Casino and the hotel were opened during this period.

We core drilled a hole in the existing floors in order to accommodate the pump line running vertical through the building. Light weight concrete was used and the pour was on top of metal decking. The timing was critical since we had a direct impact on the operation of the property during that period. The taxi drive through corridor was turned over to us at 4 AM. The project was completed and the corridor was turned back over to the powers that be by 1 PM same day. No complications... Everything went as planned... by 1 PM the concrete washout bin was removed, pump lines taken down, the drive through cleaned and the temporary pedestrian walkway was removed.  

After that we spent evenings, second shift installing the spray, cementicious fireproofing onto the newly fabricated steel structure and creating a masonry and concrete DJ booth in the same space. 

No problems despite the difficulty. Huge amount of protection was placed by us during this period and the carpenters continued to work right along side of our people spraying the fireproofing (a success story in itself if you understand the nature and difficulty in applying spray fireproofing into a tight work area.). Multiple trades worked in the same area during the day with gang boxes, material and everything you can think of in the way.
