Exposed Aggregate Concrete with Brick edging

This was a new home built in the mid 80's. The exposed aggregate concrete and brickwork featured in the photos that accompany this information show the condition of the work as of this past month. Photos were taken in April 2016. 

The brickwork was founded on miniature grade beams and the steel reinforced concrete slabs sit on the edges of those beams. The brick have voids within which we slid rebar to assist in holding everything together. As you can see in the photos there are very few cracks and or separations despite the abuse which this property has had to endure over the last 30 years, not the least of which is hurricane Sandy which flooded the island at the time. 

5000 psi concrete was used throughout to help offset the "salt" damage and we hard trowel finished the surfaces before exposing the aggregate. Again this work was performed over 30 years ago. It is in excellent condition....

We also formed and poured the concrete grade beams for the house, laid the block-work foundation andcompleted all of the other masonry and concrete work done on the property at that time.
