Scope Of Work

Sunset Times (Pendry West Hollywood) is located in the City of West Hollywood along the corner of W. Sunset Blvd. and N. Olive Drive, at the old House of Blues location. The project consist of two buildings separated by a motor court, a hotel building at the north and a luxury condominium building at the south. The existing ground surface slopes downward from W. Sunset Blvd to Fountain Ave. from about elevation 396.00 to elevation 318.00 at Fountain Ave, approximately a 78’ change in elevation.

Below the motor court, you will find the active Hollywood Fault Zone that separates the Hotel and Condominium buildings into two unique sites. The natural soil underneath the Hotel site consist of medium dense to dense clayey sand and silty sands with some gravel with occasional stiff to hard silts and clays. Ground water at the Hotel site was encountered at depths between 20 to 32 feet below grade surface. The soils underneath the Condominium building consist of artificial fill ranging from ½’ to 14’ in depth and natural massive to crudely stratified medium dense to dense clayey sand and silty sand with some gravel. Ground water was not encountered at the Condominium site due to separation of the two sites by the active Hollywood Fault Zone.
