Scope Of Work
One of the most interesting projects from start to finish. A large octagon over the sanctuary of the church was long overdue for replacement. Individual wire glass panels with had been installed and years under the Texas sun has taken its toll. Maxim Skylights was challenged with creating eight trapezoidal tandem system skylights to create the 40' octagon. The unique feature was the delivery from the Dallas, Texas plant to the Irving, Texas location. While just a few miles away it required the delivery to take place traveling up Texas Highway 114 tin the wrong direction. The Irving, Texas police department was extremely helpful and help secure the route. Highway 114 was closed to traffic as the flatbed truck proceeded with a police escort to the jobsite.
Today the skylights are visible for all who fly into DFW Airport and remain one of our favorite projects. It certainly remains the only project to travel up the highway in the opposite direction.
