Scope Of Work
This project required emergency water mitigation efforts at a 400,000 sq. ft. NIH distribution facility in Gaithersburg, MD, due to an ESFR sprinkler drop line breech. The line ran at street pressure for over three hours before the main servicing the area was secured. The breech took place over a drywall ceiling and the water entered the interior of the distribution area flooding the space with many thousand gallons of water. Emergency mitigation efforts included: removal of 1,800 sq. ft. affected drywall and 2,000 sq. ft. insulation in ceiling; content manipulation; extraction of approx. 12,000 gallons of accessible standing water; set up and removal of all drying equipment; daily readings to confirm dry out; debris cleanup caused by loss; antimicrobial application to 11,400 sq. ft. flooring; final thorough site cleaning.
All Inspections, monitoring, demolition, cleanup and disinfecting procedures complied with guidelines set by ANSI / IICRC S500 – Water Damage Restoration Standards
