Scope Of Work
This project involved renovations to the laboratories of the Organismic and Evolutionary Biology Department at Harvard Biological Laboratories. The Extavour Lab was Harvard’s first LEED v4 Certified laboratory renovation project. The project included installation of two specialty environmental rooms and refurbishment of two existing specialty environmental rooms and one new fume hood. The work involved heavy mechanical system upgrades, the installation of new chill beams and specialty lab casework. The largest challenge of this project was MEP coordination within an existing lab building with existing systems that needed to remain fully functional throughout renovations. Other project challenges included the compressed schedule, which required early procurement and submittals and working within a fully occupied lab building.
