Issue: Journal failure in rotary dryer
Problem: This dryer handles 25% of plant’s production.
Alternatives:
> Replace the dryer with a new dryer- Availability 12-16-weeks.
> Remove the dryer for OEM service.
Both alternatives require removal of the unit through the roof requiring removal of obstructing equipment as well.
Solution: Marshall Industrial Technologies provided ASME Code welders and portable machining to build up the journal and machine it in place. Delivery included ASME Code inspection and documentation.
Other Applications: Portable, in-place, machining is an excellent cost saving method when moving or disassembling machinery is not practical.
