Scope Of Work
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT
The North Branch Correctional Institute project, located in Cumberland, Allegany County, consisted of the construction of several new buildings. The buildings were constructed using tilt-up design for a total square footage of approximately 110,000SF. The buildings consisted of a new support services facility, food services facility, a gatehouse facility, two new emergency generator buildings, and a pump station.
SPECIALIZED ENGINEERING’S SCOPE OF SERVICES
Field Quality Control and Special Inspection Services consisted of construction materials testing and inspection of structural fill, utility backfill, foundation soil bearing, pile foundations, concrete formwork, cast-in-place concrete pre-placement, cast-in-place concrete, concrete reinforcement, precast concrete connections, structural steel, and spray-applied fireproofing.
Building Inspection Services consisted of working with contractors to ensure services were performed according to the planned schedule, observed and monitored compliance to requirements set forth in the construction documents and City codes and building codes, documented and communicated requirements and non-conformance issues.
Laboratory Testing & Analysis Services consisted of proposed fill materials, cast-in-place concrete cylinders, and fireproofing density samples.
