Scope Of Work
This $500 million manufacturing hub in West Virginia is one of the State’s largest economic development projects in it’s history. The project will consist of a 4,325,540-square-foot manufacturing plant on 458 acres in the Tabler Station Business Park, located between Interstate 81 and the Winchester and Western Railroad line. Of the 458 acres, 111 acres is proposed building area, 54.5 acres is proposed parking area and 222 acres is the total proposed impervious area. In addition to the main building, Phase I construction includes 2,197 parking spaces, 700 trailer storage spaces, a wastewater pretreatment facility and a railroad spur yard as well as multiple swales and ponds to manage and treat stormwater runoff. In addition to construction at the site, extensive improvements and additions to the surrounding roadways are planned.
SCOPE OF SERVICES:
Specialized Engineering has provided material testing and inspection services on multiple structures on the project site include Building #100, #400, #800 and Effluent Treatment Facility as well as the Tabler Station Access Road.
Field Quality Control and Special Inspection Services include soil compaction testing and inspection; subgrade stripping and proof-roll inspection; foundation inspection; reinforcement steel and formwork inspection; concrete placement testing and inspection; asphalt placement testing and inspection; mortar sampling testing and masonry inspection; structural steel and light-gage framing inspection; and waterproofing inspection.
Laboratory Testing & Analysis Services include that of concrete cylinder compression; mortar cube and grout cylinder compression; concrete core preparation and compression; concrete block preparation and compression; and concrete mix verification.
Cost savings: As a savings to the owner, Specialized Engineering established a certified onsite materials testing laboratory to reduce costs and have the ability to provide laboratory test results on demand.
