Scope Of Work
In 2002, SpawGlass constructed First Baptist Church of Universal City’s (FBCUC) sanctuary and education building. The sanctuary totals 46,504 square feet and ties into an existing building. The structure of the adjacent 8,716-square-foot, six-classroom education building was designed to accommodate future growth, with a foundation built to support two additional levels.
In 2013, SpawGlass returned to FBCUC to install a complete fire sprinkler system in the sanctuary, construct an addition to the education building and a new multi-purpose building and add a new asphalt parking lot. A spiral staircase leads from the nursery on the existing first level of the Education Building to two new levels. The new 41,882-square-foot space includes several classrooms, a computer lab, a science lab and a small kitchen. The adjacent new 15,715-square-foot, single-level multi-purpose building is used primarily as a gymnasium and includes rear folding basketball goals, sports court flooring, bleachers, locker rooms with showers, a small classroom, a concession stand and a kitchen.
