Scope Of Work
Marine Technologies, Inc. began by performing wave analysis for the site to confirm the wave loads included in the RFP. MTI performed structural design of the dock and bridging structure, prepared construction drawings and calculations along with submittals, revisions and permits.
MTI furnished all materials, labor and equipment to construct a new docking structure on top of the existing concrete foundation including fenders and a ladder, and anchored into the existing stone breakwater. Two sets of new concrete steps were added to connect from the new structure to the top of the existing concrete caisson on which the lighthouse is located.
The lighthouse and breakwater are listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and all work had to adhere to the Secretary of the Interior's Standards and Guidelines for the Treatment of Historic Properties.
