Scope Of Work
One Ardmore Place is a $58 Million, 282,000 square foot, mid-rise building project in the Main Line region of the Philadelphia suburbs. The building has a total of 8 levels above ground with 110 luxury apartment units accompanied by 8,450 square feet of retail businesses and two levels of parking below ground.
Highlights: Geotechnical Investigation and Design; Construction Inspection and Testing
Geotechnical Investigation and Design Services: GeoStructures performed a geotechnical investigation for the proposed project. Shallow foundation was determined to be feasible upon completion of the field explorations which included 9 test borings across the site. Along with development of the project, the structural loading was substantially increased. Working with the structural engineer, we optimized the foundation design by identifying site specific conditions and providing two tiers of high design bearing pressures (8 ksf and 6 ksf) accompanied by limited undercut of marginal soils.
Construction and Inspection Testing: During construction, GeoStructures performed construction inspection and material testing for the owner including:
- Foundation bearing pressure verification and direction of undercut stabilization
- Cast-in-place concrete testing and reinforcement inspection
- Subgrade proofrolling and backfill compaction testing
- Structural steel inspection and fireproofing Inspection
