Scope Of Work
The church project involved the construction of a 30,000 square foot church and associated stormwater facilities and parking areas. The new structure was constructed while the existing church was in use. This project was a challenge from the start. Before the new church building could begin, the existing two-story rectory had to be moved about 500 feet to a new location. Fidelis was involved with the move, providing design documents and construction oversite. Fidelis performed a geotechnical investigation and provided recommendations for foundation design and also how to approach the sinkhole prone formation. Several sinkholes were encountered during the project. Fidelis provided construction inspection and materials testing for the project.
On June 15, 2013, the new St. Joseph Church was dedicated. On June 17, 2013, the old church building was prepared for the start of demolition.
