Robert E. McKean, Jr.'s Bio
Mr. McKean is a lifelong resident of Indiana. He graduated from Northwestern High School of Howard in 1971. He attended the Indiana University school of Business from 1971 through 1975. In 1975 Mr. McKean began working in the construction industry. He worked for two respected local builders from 1975 through 1979. In 1979 he McKean Construction Company. Mr. McKean regularly attends industry related continuing education for his industry.
Bob McKean and his wife Lori make there home in Howard . Together they have four children and one grandchild.
Mr. McKean is a two time president of the Howard Builders . He has twice as vice president. He was appointed to the Board of Directors of the Howard HBA in 1988 and has continuously that time. He is currently a Life Director of that board.
Mr. McKean has as a State Director of the Indiana Builders 1991. He has achieved the honor of Lifetime Spike, and Lifetime Director of that organization. He was a of the Indiana Builders Executive Board for two years.
Mr. McKean has as National Director of the National Home Builders .
Mr. McKean has on various State Builders committees during his career as a builder. He has been a of the Land Use Committee and the Rural on Site Wastewater Committee.
His work on the Rural on Site Wastewater committee has spanned 17 years. During that time he has as Co-Chair four years and as Chairman for two. He was awarded the Indiana Builders Presidential in 2005 for his work on this committee. He has been appointed by the governor to on state steering committees on rural wastewater issues.
Mr. McKean has been very active in local governmental affairs. He has been a on most of the recent comprehensive planning, zoning, and MS4 steering groups for both Howard and Kokomo. He as a commissioner, on the board of the Kokomo Housing Authority for two years and was co-chair for one year. He is Currently a serving his second year as a Commisioner on the Howard Planning Commission.
