Scope Of Work
Since its inception over 100 years ago, Aurora University has developed its programs to suit the education needs of the nation and particularly its immediate community. This project highlights a commitment to the demand for STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education in American schools as it relates to the local community. On the Aurora University campus, this STEM Partnership School will serve third through eighth grade students from multiple districts as well as provide a platform for teacher preparation, faculty development and educational research.
The school holds about 200 students. The land around the building would make future expansion possible for future growth.
The costs associated with a school that is sophisticated in new technologies and educational advancements can make budgeting difficult, but the project team found ways for Aurora University to build their school in an affordable manner. Techniques included building labs to be multi-functional and multi-generational so that several subjects can be taught in that room.
