Scope Of Work

Loven Contracting completed a major renovation and capacity upgrade to the existing NAU North Boiler Plant. This project included selective demolition of portions of the existing building while maintaining uninterrupted operation of critical utilities. Major structural upgrades included seismic and snow load upgrades to the existing building structure. Structural concrete included the construction of underground concrete vaults, and drilled-shaft caissons while protecting existing structures, utilities and steam tunnels. Major architectural facade upgrades consist of new curtain wall, brick veneer and architectural panels. Interior upgrades include new boiler plant control room, storage mezzanines, plant operator restroom, and shower / locker facilities. Loven Contracting took additional safety precautions to ensure public and student safety during this project by increasing site signage visibility and focusing on public announcements to communicate project-related information.
