Scope Of Work
Design and construction of the 32,000 SF Fire Station 2 took into consideration the functional needs of the Village’s Public Safety Department as well as the aesthetic qualities that complemented the community. The gabled hip roof and the use of red brick was welcome additions to the neighborhood.
The ground level houses four drive- through apparatus bays with space for eight fire engines, a hose drying tower, laundry, kitchen, shower and bunk facilities.
The lower level includes storage and exercise facilities as well as the building’s generator. The upper level houses administrative offices, a training , reception and mail room.
ICI contracted with the Village as their Construction Manager with a Guaranteed Maximum Price.
Early coordination meetings led to the design of a retaining wall to satisfy an adjacent neighbor. Value engineering savings in a lighting package, HVAC system and millwork allowed the Village to upgrade their audiovisual system and ICI aided in procuring the vehicle exhaust system and emergency generator.
