Scope Of Work
Constructed 1914, Harris Hall, a local landmark , had primarily functioned as a classroom faculty for Northwestern University. recent years, it became clear that a makeover was necessary. Recognizing need to bring to modern standards comfort to provide a home for growing history department, University embarked on a comprehensive renovation which consisted reorganization second third floors into faculty offices basement into classroom special program spaces. historic corridor, auditorium, meeting room on first floor were restored with new mechanical audio-visual systems integrated into decorative detailing. Two new below grade additions provide space for new mechanical program space. is now equipped with modern sustainable materials, systems, plenty daylighting, additional classrooms, gathering for students, new additions to west south including a new monumental main entry stair. On interior, 25,000-sq. ft., four-story retained refinished a historic winding marble stair, oak trim other architectural elements to capture the essence a neo-classical period . achieved NC 2.2 Gold.
Harris Hall received approval from City Evanston Historic Preservation Committee is designated as a landmark by City Evanston
