Ben Angelo's Bio

As Vice President of Real Estate Development, Ben provides leadership and expertise and leads Opus’ national student living platform with a focus on the sourcing and pursuit of new development opportunities, upfront development feasibility studies, financial analysis, due diligence and entitlements while further providing managerial oversight throughout construction and project delivery.
Ben has over a decade of commercial real estate experience, most of which has been spent developing Class A mixed-use, urban infill assets. Prior to joining Opus in 2016, he served as executive vice president of development at Core Spaces, LLC, a national developer and asset manager specializing in private student housing. Ben also worked for notable firms such as McCaffery Interests, Inc. and Jones Lang LaSalle (now JLL).
Ben holds a Masters of Business Administration in real estate finance and investments from the DePaul University and a Bachelor of Science in construction management from Purdue University. He is a member of the DePaul Real Estate Alumni Alliance, Purdue Alumni Association and the National Multifamily Housing Council.

Jim’s responsibilities also include company strategic planning, resource allocation and related activities.
Jim joined Opus in 1996 and has almost 22 years of experience in the design, construction and development of office, institutional, retail, industrial, residential and sport/amusement projects.
Jim holds a Bachelor of Science in construction management from Bradley University.
John Lewis's Bio

John manages the structural department. His responsibilities include selection, analysis and design of structural systems.
John has expertise in heavy equipment maintenance facilities, distribution facilities, food processing and cold storage facilities and institutional projects. He is also experienced in working with difficult site conditions and has designed foundation systems utilizing spread footings, drilled piers, caissons, driven pile, rammed aggregate piers, and auger cast pile.

Mike is responsible for the leadership, development and overall management of the Chicago region and associates. His primary responsibilities include overseeing active projects and the pursuit of development opportunities in Illinois, Wisconsin and Michigan. Mike plays an integral role in defining and executing current strategies and future growth plans for the region.
Over his 25-year commercial real estate career, Mike has completed more than 22-million-square-feet of industrial, office and medical projects, valued at over $1 billion with high-profile clients, such as ConAgra Foods, Hewlett-Packard, Macy’s and Electrolux.
Over the past two years, the Opus team that Mike manages has developed over 500 market-rate apartment units, 1,000 student housing beds and 2.4-million-square-feet of industrial space.
Mike has negotiated and managed many of Opus’ joint venture projects with partners such as Northwestern Mutual, USAA Real Estate Company, AEW Capital Management, Carlyle, Principal, Berkshire and Founders Properties.
Mike holds a Master of Business Administration in real estate finance from DePaul University and a Bachelor of Applied Science in construction management from Western Illinois University. He is a member of NAIOP, the Association of Industrial Real Estate Brokers and the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (SIOR).
Tim Murnane's Bio
As president and CEO of Opus Holding, L.L.C., Tim oversees all operations of the operating companies collectively known as The Opus Group. These operating companies are Opus Development Company, L.L.C., Opus Design Build, L.L.C. and Opus AE Group, L.L.C.
Tim is a 37-year veteran of the commercial real estate industry and has developed more than 20 million square feet of office, industrial and retail projects.
Tim attended the University of St. Thomas. He is an advisory board member for the University of St. Thomas Real Estate Program and for the Urban Land Institute. Tim is a board member for the Minneapolis Downtown Council, the Minnesota Business Partnership, Twin Cities RISE! and St. Thomas Academy.

Prior to joining Opus in 2016, Tyler worked on the New City Mixed Use Development in Lincoln Park in Chicago as an intern. He also worked at another architectural firm, completing projects including Canty Elementary School renovation and expansion, the Emet Synagogue Renovation pre-design and multiple CHA projects (renovations, concept designs for library/senior living complex and construction management).
Tyler holds a Master of Science in civil engineering construction management, Masters of Architecture and Bachelors of Science in architectural studies from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He has undergone OSHA 10-hour training and is a member of the American Institute of Architects.
