This 240,000 SF high school houses 1,445 students is first new high school built Seattle School District No. 1 within last 36 years.
At time , Ballard High School featured leading-edge technological infrastructure. Each classroom was wired for 30 computers, with 100 miles wiring connecting 1,500 outlets to T1 Internet connection. design elements were a combination old new. main entrance lobby was a wall glass with exposed metal girders giving it a contemporary feel, while copper plates on brick exterior wave-like concrete pattern below brick were reminiscent 84-year-old it replaced.
