Scope Of Work

The challenge:

Since the hospital’s parking equipment was obsolete, it was unequipped to integrate modern technologies such as license plate recognition. At peak times (during shift changes and at the end of visiting hours), this created major congestion in the parking lots. The hospital was looking for a state-of-the-art, reliable parking solution that could handle traffic even at peak times. They were also looking for a way to make parking facilities available free of charge during weekends to the members of a local sports club. Due to changes in the reimbursement of travel expenses, the hospital also wanted the parking facility for staff to be fully compliant with its HR policy.

The solution:

WPS equipped the Rijnstate ziekenhuis with the state-of-the-art, user-friendly ParkiD parking management system and the ParkAdvance Parking Equipment. We used all of the old infrastructure to cut costs. We also created universal ambulance access so as to allow all Regional Ambulance Facilities (RAFs) to quickly access the grounds. We also installed a terminal in the canteen of a local sports club that allows members and other users to recode their parking pass so as to enable free parking. Another part of our solution is a link with the existing access control system, which means staff members can user their employee access cards to enter and exit the parking lot. We have also linked various parking privileges to employee cards and matching license plates. Data is transmitted from the parking system to an HR system to ensure that the hospital can reimburse travel expenses based on the number of times people have used the parking facilities.

The result:

Patients, visitors, and staff members can enter and exit the parking facilities at the Rijnstate hospital at any time, quickly and conveniently. Our high processing speed ensures that congestion during entry and exit is a thing of the past. The parking management and its enforcement are fully compliant with the hospital’s new HR policy.
