Scope Of Work

From the Perelman building to the Core Project, we are proud of our ongoing relationship with the Philadelphia Museum of Art (PMA). In 2007 LF Driscoll began restoration and renovation work of the terracotta, stone facades and roof elements on the museum main building.

The building’s Minnesota dolomitic limestone and colorful glazed terracotta ornament were cleaned and repointed using period-specific materials. The bronze window soffits and grilles originally fabricated by Tiffany Studios and additional exterior elements were also cleaned and repaired using a gentle cleaning and refinishing process.

Throughout the course of the project our team replaced over two thousand feet of built-in metal gutters and valleys of the terracotta tile roof. From behind a printed CAD drawing of the building’s façade that was hung over the building’s main entrance, the PMA remained open during the expansive renovation, a reflection of our team’s careful coordination and respect for the museum’s mission.
