Scope Of Work
Completed in 1994, this facility designed by Michael Graves serves as the North American Headquarters of Thomson Consumer Electronics. It features two separate buildings totaling over 540,000 square feet of space including corporate offices, product display/museum space, raised floor computer center, call center, two full-service kitchen/ cafeterias, and research/testing laboratory space containing an anechoic chamber, wood shop and electronic test labs. CHALLENGES Working with three different architects to design and construct a project to increase the awareness of Thomson Consumer Electronics and to enhance the employees’ work environment. Construction was actually put on hold during the inclusion of the Michael Graves design team as steel was already erected and precast fabrication had started.
