Scope Of Work
This project is a 100,000 square foot healthcare facility constructed for Health and Hospital of Indianapolis. This building houses multiple levels of care from physical and mental disabilities to bed-ridden patients requiring regular hospital room functions. This facility is connected to Wishard Memorial Hospital by way of an underground tunnel. The facility includes full service nurse care, administration functions, laundry service, and future space for a full service kitchen/cafeteria. CHALLENGES The City of Indianapolis was faced with combining several facilities to reduce overhead expenses and to replace inefficient facilities. The original project bids, prior to Browning’s involvement, were in excess of $3 million over budget. The City asked Browning to redesign the facility and the mechanical and electrical systems to make the project viable.
