Scope Of Work
The Marbury Building is an architecturally significant, ultra modern, glass/mirror curtain wall office building situated on a wooded campus in rural Baltimore. The building has two 5 story towers linked with an dramatic atrium and bridges. Below the building is a 600 car parking structure that extends well beyond the building footprint. The area above the garage is covered with landscaping, an entrance plaza, and a rear terrace overlooking the wooded setting. The project consisted of the removal of all of the existing fill, landscaping, paving and other structures from the plaza area, repairs to the structure, installation of a sloped topping and new hot rubberized asphalt waterproofing with associated expansion joints and flashings. New landscaping, concrete paving and granite pavers were then installed. Garage structural repairs were performed and a traffic bearing deck waterproofing system was installed. The repairs and waterproofing were designed to provide the building with minimal maintenance for the next 25 years. The engineer, owner and contractor worked together through the entire project from the investigation phase, budgeting, the structural repair phase, the waterproofing and the final finishes which included many upgrades to enhance the appearance and function of the building and site
