Scope Of Work
Details: • Contract type: Performance-based, Cost plus award fee • KBR provided infrastructure to support LANL’s scientific research programs in nuclear physics, hydrodynamics, conventional explosives, chemistry, metallurgy, radiochemistry, and life sciences. • KBR was responsible for operations; maintenance of infrastructure (including prevention, correction, and refurbishment); engineering upgrades; major facility modifications; construction; facility automation services; and systems engineering in all science work areas. • KBR managed a workforce of up to 1,500 full-time personnel, who further extended to utility maintenance, janitorial services, vehicle maintenance, and grounds maintenance. Highlights: • Implemented innovative methods to increase accountability and reduce costs, including a design and construction project management plan to clarify work scope, cost and schedule • Achieved outstanding small business subcontracting goal participation during the project • Accomplished objectives to improve operational effectiveness, efficiency and safety during the first award fee period
