Scope Of Work
Feedstock optimization and post-treater projects for the reliable processing of oil sands
This project facilitates the reliable processing of Husky’s Canadian Oil Sands diluted bitumen crude and meets the upcoming EPC Tier III gasoline regulations
Project Highlights
Toledo Feedstock Optimization (TFO) – HiTan Project is to improve the metallurgy of some portions of the crude/vacuum unit to reduce corrosion in equipment and piping due to processing an increased proportion of Canadian Oil Sands crude. Installed during the spring 2016 turnaround, this was a schedule-driven project.
Toledo Feedstock Optimization (TFO) – Availability Project is to replace the existing desalter with two new desalters to reduce shutdowns and improve refinery availability. Tie-ins for this project were installed during the spring 2016 turnaround, with the remainder of construction after the turnaround. This is a cost-driven project.
Toledo Feedstock Optimization (TFO) – Sulfur Reduction Project is to reduce the sulfur in the refinery fuel gas to meet environmental requirements. Tie-ins for this project were installed during the spring 2016 turnaround, with the remainder of construction after the turnaround. This is a cost-driven project.
Toledo Post-Treater (TPT) – Construction of a new Naphtha Hydrotreater that will provide the capability to comply with the Tier III gasoline regulations. Construction began in 2017 following the receipt of environmental permits. While necessary for environmental regulations, this is a cost-driven project.
