Scope Of Work
This 450,000 square foot expansion and renovation program included an extremely complex “overbuild” covering more than 50% of the center, as well as a renovation of the entire complex. Adding the second story required working within more than 40 occupied tenant spaces as well as all common areas of the mall. Cleanliness, safety, and keeping the mall functional during the two shift construction period was a challenge met by Lathrop. The complexity and size of the project necessitated a two year preconstruction period which paid dividends when the job “went to the field.”
Other project components included: two new parking structures; pads for three new department stores; a new food court; relocation of a historic 250 year old home; construction of a new US Post Office; and extensive highway improvements surrounding the mall.
