Scope Of Work
East Rockingham County High School, which opened in 2010, relieved a severe overcrowding problem at nearby Spotswood High School.
Located in Virginia’s Shenandoah Valley, the high school in Elkton is designed to house 1,200 students. It is one of four public high schools in the county.
The school’s setting – with the Blue Ridge Mountains to the east and the Massanutten Mountain range to the west — provides inspiration for students and staff. Recently, ERHS has been selected as one of 66 Virginia schools being recognized for efforts as a Virginia Naturally School. These schools learn about the environment and how to be good stewards of the Commonwealth’s natural resources.
Shockey built a two-story academic wing, 650-seat auditorium, main and auxiliary gymnasiums, commons and cafeteria areas, and an administration area to complete the new high school.
