Scope Of Work
The Stryker Instruments Division Facility is a new 475,000-square-foot manufacturing facility located in Portage, Michigan. In order to turn the building over to the owner on schedule, Ideal Contracting was tasked with an aggressive schedule. This required two cranes to be used to erect with the project team working ten-hour days, five to six days a week. The aggressive schedule required constant communication with the fabricator to ensure that the steel was shipped on time and any questions were answered promptly.
The location of the project and the time frame in which steel was erected was a challenge. Being located on the west side of Michigan, the project team was faced with very cold and snowy conditions, which complicated scheduling and productivity. Despite this challenge, the team worked continuously to maintain the schedule.
